Thermi
The eastern coast north of Mytilini has a layered quality — thermal-spa tradition, refugee memory from 1922, prehistoric archaeology and the neoclassical Sarlitza Palace.

The Character of this Area
Thermi (Loutropoli Thermis Area) has been a bathing destination since antiquity. The volcanic springs, the Asia Minor refugee heritage of several villages, and the Bronze Age site at Pyrgi Thermis give this coastal strip more historical depth than its modest visitor infrastructure suggests.
Villages of the Thermis Area
- Loutropoli Thermis — thermal springs and Sarlitza Palace heritage
- Pyrgi Thermis — one of the oldest Bronze Age settlements in the Aegean
- Komi — inland village on the thermal coast
- Mistegna — village with Asia Minor heritage
- Skala Mistegnon — small fishing harbour
- Nees Kydonies — refugee village from Kydonies (Ayvalık)
- Skala Neon Kydonion — harbour of Nees Kydonies
- Pigi — traditional inland village
Where to Stay
