Agia Paraskevi

Agia Paraskevi

Agia Paraskevi sits near the geographic and agricultural centre of Lesvos — the Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production, two ancient sanctuary sites and a working village life that does not adapt itself for visitors. Agia Paraskevi is one of the most underrated stops on any Lesvos itinerary — the Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production, two ancient sanctuary sites and a genuine working village agora.

What to See and Do in Agia Paraskevi

The Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production preserves a complete 19th-century steam-powered press — one of the most honest and complete industrial heritage museums in Greece. Allow at least 90 minutes.

The Temple at Messa, a short drive into the agricultural landscape, preserves an ancient sanctuary in a setting that still carries something of its sacred character. The Klopedi Sanctuary of Apollo Napeaus is associated with the sacred grove tradition of the island.

See the Olive Oil Heritage guide for full museum detail.

How long: 2–3 hours (museum + village + temple site). Best combined with: Kalloni (20 min), Napi, Eresos-Antissa routes. Best for: Heritage lovers, olive-oil enthusiasts, history, slow travel.
