Molyvos (Mithymna)
Explore the castle, the vine-covered cobbled lanes, and the working harbour agora. Stop at Eftalou on the way out of town for a soak in the hot springs.
A north-coast route best done slowly
Walk Molyvos from the castle through the old town to the harbour, then continue to Petra for the rock church, village lanes and beach. Anaxos or Eftalou can be added, but not both when the aim is to experience rather than catalogue places.
Pacing and verification
Use the route as a framework rather than a target list. Remove a stop when museums, meals, swimming or village walks take longer than expected, and confirm current opening hours, road access and seasonal services before departure.

Petra
Climb the steps to Panagia Glykofilousa atop Petra’s landmark rock, then swim at the village beach. If you want a longer, sandier stretch, continue on to Anaxos just south.
Molyvos gets busy around sunset for the harbour view, so visit the castle earlier in the day and save the harbour tavernas for the evening.
