What to See and Do in Skala Eresou
The beach stretches for approximately 4 km of dark volcanic sand. The water is clean and deepens gradually. Facilities are available in season at the village end; walk further for more space. A seasonal wetland lake behind the beach is worth exploring in spring for birdwatching.
The International Women’s Festival in late September draws visitors from across the world to the birthplace of Sappho. Outside festival time the village is welcoming and inclusive year-round.

Skala Eresou rewards an overnight stay — the village has a different character in the evening. The Women’s Festival in late September is the peak event.
