Cards are widely accepted in Mytilini, Molyvos and other larger towns, but cash remains useful in smaller villages, tavernas and family-run shops. ATMs are concentrated in the bigger towns, so withdraw what you need before heading to remote western or inland villages. Tipping is appreciated but not obligatory, and typically rounds up a taverna bill rather than a fixed percentage.
