Nees Kydonies
Nees Kydonies — “New Kydonies” — was founded by refugees from the Anatolian city of Kydonies (modern Ayvalık in Turkey) following the catastrophic 1922 population exchange. The name preserves the memory of a community displaced from a homeland across the water.
