Tavari is the seaside expression of the Mesotopos area, a small southwestern beach harbour built around salt air, waterfront fish tavernas and a genuinely calm coastal rhythm. Grilled octopus, ouzo at midday and jasmine in the evening sum up its appeal better than any single sight: this is a place for slow summer afternoons rather than sightseeing. It also gives access to the quieter coves of Chroussos and Podaras nearby.

What to See and Do

  • the small harbour beach below Mesotopos
  • waterfront fish tavernas serving fresh, simple seafood
  • access to the quieter Chroussos and Podaras coves nearby

Where to Stay near Tavari

There’s not much to book directly in Tavari. The practical base for this part of the island is Eresos, a short drive away. Stay there and treat Tavari as a stop on a day out.

Check current beach organisation and business availability locally each season, as facilities here are small-scale and can change.
