This route links the capital’s castle and museums, the beach-and-archaeology coast at Thermi, and the sheltered swimming and waterside tavernas of the Gera Gulf, all a short drive apart.
Mytilini
Start in the capital: the Castle of Mytilini, the Archaeological Museum and its Roman mosaics, Epano Skala’s layered harbour history, and the Theophilos and Teriade museums at Varia just south of town. Finish with meze at a harbour ouzerie.

Gera Gulf
Head south of the capital to the sheltered Gera Gulf. Swim in the calm, shallow water at Skopelos or Perama, cross the short chain ferry to Koundouroudia, and finish with grilled fish at a waterside taverna.
All three areas are within about 30 minutes of central Mytilini, so this route works well as a single relaxed day or spread across two if you want more time in each place.
