Prophet Elias Hill

For a single view that gathers Mytilini into one frame, the hill and chapel of Prophet Elias above the city is the place to go: a white chapel on a green plateau of pines and olive trees, looking down over the historic port, the castle, the open Aegean and, on a clear day, the Asia Minor coast opposite. It is less a sightseeing stop than a viewpoint — the kind of place that puts the whole “opposite shore” geography of Lesvos into perspective in a single look.
